Hey there, Kids!

Can you believe that it’s MARCH already?!?!?!

How was your February? Here in the Patterson tribe is was an embarrassing one for me, I hate to admit. See, I do a bit of writing on the side and was asked to review the Davy Jones and David Cassidy concert stop here in Dallas. I was provided a couple of tickets for my lovely first wife and I to attend.

I swear, I think they pumped some nostalgia gas into that concert hall because the women were screaming, rushing the stage and throwing various undergarments to the Dave’s. It was almost as if it was against their will – that’s why I say there must’ve been some sort of gas pumped.

Did it affect me? I ain’t sayin’. Well, at least all I’ll say is that I’m now short one perfectly good t-shirt.

On to MVHS Reunion stuff!

I forgot to mention in the last update that we have our very own webstore! Actually, we technically have four of them. Yep ‘ir! The latest addition is the store with the new and current 30-Something Reunion Logo that was designed by our very own, lovely and talented Patti Rooney-Vrabel!

We also have a store featuring the yearbook covers for the classes of ’75 thru ’78 (if any of you 79ers or Class of 80 can scan your yearbook cover, send it to Doug Barnett. When he has time, perhaps he’ll make a store for yours, too!).

Then, we store where you can order mugs with the mugs of your favorite MVHS teacher emblazoned on them. My personal favorites are Ms. Anderson and Ms. Hutherson (one mug for each hand!) Finally, we have the “Moon Valley High School Committee for Social Interaction” (MVHS-CSI) store. Why? Because we can . . . and because it’s just another way of saying, “MVHS Class Reunion” and we’re doing all we can to promote the attendance of said reunion! We have now posted the times for both nights of the reunion. Both nights (September 24th and 25th) will start and end at 2a.m. – unless, of course, Ozzie Virgil is skinny dipping in the pool at closing time. If that happens, I’ll be selling tickets at the gate and the pictures back to Mr. Virgil, all at a handsome profit! Proceeds will go to the Ozzie Virgil Defense Fund to fight charges of indecent exposure.

So, about the reunion: This is the last month that you can take advantage of the $90 per person (for both nights). On April 1st, the price climbs to $95 per person (both nights) so, don’t be an April Fool and purchase your admission to the reunion before the end of the month. The reunion committee is working on some contest ideas that, while generating interest attending the reunion, will also save you some money and have some fun in the process. In the mean time, start tracking down some of our friends from the MVHS days. Heck! Track down teachers and staff from the day, too! We want to see them all at the reunion. The committee is working on some smokin’ pricing just for the teachers and staff so that we can all enjoy visiting with them as well. So, stay tuned, folks! It’s only gonna get “gooder and gooder”!

Well, I’ve gotta run. I’m beggin’ and pleadin’ with the Jones/Cassidy people, trying to get my t-shirt back. Not only was it the only one I owned, it was in dire need of its monthly washing.
